Compete Hockey School 2017-18 Camps

Compete Hockey is excited to announce that they will be running summer development camps throughout the spring and summer. The program has added numerous new summer development programs that include position specialized camps, individual skill development camps, and our brand new Team Camp concept. Along with a professional skill development coaching staff, the camps will be run in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho,  a beautiful family summer destination spot like. The program will also run a High-Performance Alaska Camp in Wasilla, Alaska. 

 

Christmas Break Battle /Spring Team Identification Camp

Frontier Arena- Coeur d' Alene Idaho

Compete Hockey's Battle Camp on ice curriculum is based on teaching players the proper mechanics of protecting the puck in the small areas of the rink. Another main focus is proper angling techniques that take time and space away from your opponent. Players gain confidence in the small areas of the rink in both the offensive and defensive components of the game. The camp will provide checking and proper body contact instruction for Peewee and Bantam players. This camp will also be used as an identification camp for our 2018 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, and 2004 Spring Tournament Teams.

 

 

 

 

10 Week Skills Academy
Frontier Ice Arena – Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Players receive individual skill development instruction over a 10 week period. The on-ice curriculum is designed to progressively improve a player's overall skill level in skating, puck handling, and shooting.

 

**All players will receive a detailed assessment of their skating, shooting, and puck control ability.

 

 

 

 

 

Battle and Shooting Camp

Frontier Ice Arena – Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Instruction will focus on improving a player's mechanics in the skill of shooting, and creating more scoring opportunities with proper puck protection and puck battle techniques. Both skills are very important in a player's overall success on the ice.

 

 

 

 

 

Team Camp

Frontier Ice Arena – Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

A full on and off-ice instructional curriculum, that educates player and coaches on all aspects of successful player and team concepts. Players will also compete in competitive scrimmages at the end of each day. Coaches can bring their next season's prospective team members for a week of player development, as well as having the opportunity to learn new coaching concepts from an array of high-level coaches. 

 

 

 

 

 

High-Performance Alaska Camp

This camp's main focus is improving players' individual skill level with a professional coaching staff and a challenging on-ice curriculum.  During this camp, players will improve their speed, balance, and agility. There will also be a focus on shooting, puck control, passing, and offensive and defensive techniques. 

 

 

 

Scoring & Sniper Camp

The on-ice curriculum will break down the skill of goal scoring. Every aspect of goal scoring will be addressed for players to skate away confident and ready to light the lamp.

 

 

 

Defenseman Camp

To be successful, a defenseman is required to master a myriad of skills. Backward skating proficiency, footwork, shooting, passing, positional knowledge, decision making, and game awareness. Compete Hockey has designed a streamlined method for coaching defenseman using language and techniques specifically designed from a defenseman's perspective.

 

 

 

High-Performance Camp Coeur d'Alene

This camp’s main focus is improving players' individual skill level with a professional coaching staff and a challenging on-ice curriculum.  During this camp, players will improve their speed, balance, and agility. Weekend Warrior Adult Skills Camp

 Compete Hockey is happy to announce their brand new Weekend Warrior Adult Skills Camp. The camp is designed in a way that caters to all skill levels from the beginner “D” level player to the experienced “A” level player. The weekend long camp ensures individual skill development, hockey system concepts, and getting together for an enjoyable social event with teammates, family, and long-time friends.

Camp Instruction Curriculum     • Puck Protection: puck strength, proper body positioning  • Angling: taking away time and space, proper stick positioning • Corner and Net Front Battles: angling, proper positioning, 1 vs. 1 situations • Small Area Competitions: 1 vs 1 , 2 vs 2, 3 vs 3 • Body Contact : age specific, separating the player from the puck
