Phase II of Roster Selection for CDA Rosters Set for June

The Coeur d'Alene Hockey Academy is off to a bust summer as they prepare for an exciting off-season. CDA has announced the dates for their 2022 Prospects Camp. The camp will be held from June 10-13 at the Frontier Ice Arena in Coeur d'Alene, ID.

The camp is open to all 2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007 born players who are looking to earn a roster spot on one of CDA's upcoming teams for the 2022-23 hockey season. The cost for the camp is only $150.00. Players attending will have a total of 4 ice sessions and will be evaluated by CDA Coaching Staff members.

According to CDA's Head Hockey Coach, Mike Butters, the Prospects Camp serves many purposes. "As we continue to move forward with the growth and quality of our rosters for the upcoming season, the camp will give players who weren't able to attend our tryouts the opportunity to earn a roster spot. We will have already committed players on hand and it will be the first time our Director of Hockey and U18 Prep Coach, Jeremy Mylymok gets  to see the players since joining the academy" Butters added, The weekend will give a chance for players and families to tour our facilities, meet the staff and compete for the opportunity to attend the academy this fall. With 3 full prep teams and 16U & 14U Weekend Model teams this year, there are roster spots available."

CDA will have 3 full time Prep teams this season. The U18 & U17 Prep teams will play in the CSSHL this season and the 16U Prep team will play an independent AAA and Academy schedule, including games vs. CSSHL 16U Prep teams. The 16U Weekend Model team will play 50+ games vs. top competition in both the US and Canada. The 16U Weekend Model team will be coached by CDA Goalie Instructor and Coach, Freddie Beaubien. Coach Beaubien says the academy recruiting process is slightly different than basic club team tryouts. "Choosing an academy like CDA is something we really want our future players and their families to investigate. Student-athletes who attend CDA have to really be committed to both hockey and education. With practices, off-ice training and educational study going on every non-game day, players must really be dedicated to both their hockey and educational development. In addition to our every day practices, we have on-ice skill sessions twice per week, open ice times and video and strategy sessions. If players love the game of hockey and what it takes to advance and develop, they will thrive here." Beaubien added, "Our prospect camp gives players and their families a solid opportunity to experience and see what their weekly schedule and experience will look like.
