Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy is a proud member of the prestigious Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL). The Academy has been the only US member since 2013. During the 2017-18 season, the Academy will be participating in the Boys Midget Varsity & Midget Prep divisions, along with the Female Varsity division.
The CSSHL was established in 2009 by five sport schools based in BC and Alberta. Their vision was to establish a league designed specifically for elite level student athletes, and give these athletes an opportunity to increase their skills off and on the ice, and provide athletes with a high level of competition as well as exposure. The CSSHL has produced many high-performance student-athletes who have gone on to play junior hockey, collegiate hockey and beyond.
The objective of the league is to provide a competitive environment for young student-athletes that share similar values of Sportsmanship, Citizenship, Academic Excellence and Hockey Development.
The league continues to be recognized as a great place for young hockey players to grow and develop. The students within the league are attracting attention from Junior, Major Junior, and College teams from across North America. The league is internationally recognized with students from all across Canada, as well as 11 US States and 18 different countries.
The CSSHL has grown to 19 programs and 69 teams spread across seven divisions: Midget Prep, Midget Varsity, Elite 15’s, Bantam Prep, Bantam Varsity, Female Prep and Female Varsity.
The CSSHL has seen over 200 of their alumni move on to a higher level of hockey, whether it’s the NHL, NCAA, Major Junior or Junior “A”. CSSHL alums have gone on to be selected in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft, win the Memorial Cup, win the Royal Bank Cup and win the World Juniors.
